Three Weeks for Dreamwidth: Birdhouses
Three Weeks for Dreamwidth runs April 25-May 15. This year, I'll be posting about birds in honor of birdfeeding. Today's topic is Birdhouses.
Birdhouses provide a secure place for birds to raise their chicks. Some birds are very particular about the size and shape, so there are many patterns for different species. Other species are much more casual and will build nests in all sorts of odd places, including the "cute" kinds of birdhouses that are more decoration than housing. While most birdhouses cater to cavity nesters, some have other designs for different needs, such as shelves. For particular types of birds and their houses, see the first week's posts.
