Birdfeeding
Today is cloudy and cold. A few desultory snowflakes are drifting down from the sky.
I fed the birds, while a tufted titmouse squeaked at me to hurry up already. I put out a new peanut suet cake and a new corncob. The birds are mobbing the feeders again. I've seen a large mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a flock of mourning doves, several starlings, a male and a female cardinal separately, a tufted titmouse, and a female downy woodpecker.
I put out water for the birds.
EDIT 1/7/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
I put out more seed for the birds. I've seen a dark-eyed junco.
Today is the Poetry Fishbowl, so I am done working outside for the night.

My yard always has plenty of native food. However, sometimes the snow covers up most of it, except for winter-persistent fruit or seedheads on tall plants. Also, I like to supplement with birdfeeders so the birds come closer to the windows. :D

Yeah, I think it's in the 20s right now. Earlier today some of the snow was starting to melt a bit but now it's all ice again.
Re: Thoughts
Yep, this weekend it's in the 20's out by me during the day. In the night hours I think it's been dropping to the teens.
