I didn't know until recently that deer will eat live birds (mainly nestlings straight from the nest), and will occasionally scavenge other small injured/dead animals they come across. But these squirrels are actively hunting the voles, and yeah, that's astounding.

I had no idea deer would do that! WTF even, deer.

But now I am remembering the monster called pteryon or peryton, which is a fanged, winged deer.
