We walked slowly and calmly past two adult turkeys whose poult was on the other side of a hedge this morning, and it was fine. When we approached, one of the adults had been on the same side of the hedge as the young bird, which then looked as though it wasn't sure whether it should join its parents, or how.

I think these were the same birds I already reported to the turkey census, based on number and location.
