It wasn't the birdiest month. Robins, cardinals (male and female), house sparrows (ditto), chickadees. And some dark-eyed juncos at my mom's, though I'm sad not to yet have seen any in my own yard. Oh, and some hairy and downy woodpeckers at my mom's and one red-bellied woodpecker. My mom doesn't live very far away from the city proper, but she's in a place that encourages wildlife. They just had some goats in for the third year in a row to eat up all the buckthorn, and one result was a huge influx of wrens now that they can get at the ground to forage. I think winter wrens, but I'm not sure. They have moved on for the season, though.
